“Is Life Supposed to Feel This Empty?” - A solitary figure walks along an endless, empty road under a cloudy gray sky. The landscape is desolate, with faint light breaking through the clouds, evoking a melancholic and introspective mood.

Is Life Supposed to Feel This Empty?

Is Life Supposed to Feel This Empty?
When I Feel Life is Meaningless
Sometimes,
we may find it hard to see meaning in our daily lives.
However, even in such moments, there are precious things we can discover.

As we age, face illness, and experience a decline in physical strength…
When the enemy of cancer intruded into my life,
I began to think about death, which once seemed so distant,
and I started pondering the meaning of life.
Where does the meaning of my life lie?
I felt life was meaningless…

Today, I still begin my day with a cup of coffee.
I wonder, what is the meaning of such a life?
Looking back on the life I’ve run with all my might, there’s really nothing I regret.
Even if I lived again, I couldn’t work harder than I already have.
Now, I just want to rest.

Questions About Life

Yet, what has my past hard work contributed to the Kingdom of God?
Was my life for myself or for God?
To be honest, I don’t feel like I’ve worked hard for God.
Then, why did I strive so hard? For money?
For fame?
For happiness?
Or for my family?

Is Life Supposed to Feel This Empty?
Many missionaries risk their lives to spread the Gospel around the world.
Many pastors, elders, deacons, and believers dedicate their lives to the revival of the church.
But what about me?
What have I done for the Gospel?
I have only tried to walk the path in front of me but have done nothing special for evangelism.
So, does God like me as I am?

My Way of Life Before God

Should I now do something for the Kingdom of God?
But I already feel tired. Do I need to do more?
God! What kind of life am I living now?
I have lived so desperately.
Is my life too insignificant in the eyes of the Lord?

However, today, the Lord said to me:
“You do not live for Me, but I am with you.”
You want to obey My Word,
walk with Me,
know Me more,
and love Me more.

When you are exhausted, you rely on Me;
when you are happy, you thank Me;
when you are in pain, you hold on and trust Me.

At that moment, I realized:
Ah! This life I’m living is a life that pleases God…

A Life Walking with God

I do not live for God,
but I live walking with God every day.

In the precious life given by God,
I become closer to the Lord,
understand Him more,
praise Him more,
obey Him more,
look up to Him more,
follow Him more,
and try to love Him more.
And this effort does not come from my own strength,
but from the strength given by the Lord.

This is my understanding of life.

Sometimes, it is difficult to pray;
sometimes, it is hard to praise;
sometimes, it is hard to be thankful;
sometimes, it is hard to meditate on Scripture;
sometimes, I feel sad about my insignificant faith.
But no matter how I am,
the Lord always loves me,
forgives me,
and silently watches over me!

Even though I am not great and do not have the ability to do something for the Kingdom of God,
today, in the small yet precious life that the Lord has given me,
I feel the Lord’s presence and look up to Him.

The Gospel and Mission in My Life

May my life become the Gospel.

May my life become one that pleases the Lord.

May my life become a mission.

May my life be a testimony to the coming of the Kingdom of God.
